Bearing Fruit

You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should
remain; that whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give to you.” John 15:16

Since I last wrote, others have joined the team and we now have seven
persons committed to going to Haiti: Diane and Devin Bell, Jordan Bowling (Devin’s boyfriend), Brennan Baker, Cindy McComb, Brian Rose and myself. Plane tickets have been purchased and the date for going is set for leaving Friday, June 16. Praise God for what He has done so far! Many thanks to all who have supported our fund raisers. It is much appreciated! Details on future events are on the Haiti board in Spencer Hall and a list is below.

In late fall, the administrative board moved to support having an ongoing relationship with the Manze Marie Nazarene Church in Haiti. This means that we hope to support and communicate with this church in the future. We will be your eyes, ears, hands and feet to do good, but more than that to be in relationship with other Christians and support their work in person. While regular communication is not easy from this remote village, we learned that when the last hurricane hit the western part of the island, it flattened their crops, but left no one hurt in their village. Thank God.
So while we wait to hear what practical projects we will do, we know that we will go to encourage, to help, to strengthen, to learn what it is like to know and love God despite lack of material comforts. The church at Manze Marie is located in a remote mountain village in the south of Haiti. They have no running water, no local store, no nicely paved roads, no medical care, but the Christians at Manze Marie have great joy and faith. We go to get to know these brothers and sisters and to bear fruit. Please pray with us that we would be faithful in God’s purposes for us there.
