Mission of the month for July: Wags 4 Warriors

Wags 4 Warriors is a Non-Profit based in Brecksville and Painesville, Ohio. They train service
dogs for veterans with PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) & TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and multiple other disabilities. They serve every generation Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, any
man or woman veteran. 90% of the dogs are rescues. The dogs are placed nationwide with a veteran right away and the veteran does the training. The veteran and the dog go to classes like obedience and task training. The veteran and the dog have 120 hours of training. The dogs learn basic obedience sit, stay, down and then moves onto more advanced training like blocking, behind, whatever the veteran needs from the dog. Sometimes it’s waking from nightmares, calming from panic attacks, seizure alerts, diabetes, dogs can retrieve their medication, pick things up or help them with things. The veteran trains the dog so that they bond with the dog instantly, and feels a sense of accomplishment for training their dog, with the programs guidance. This is a great situation. The veterans are with other veterans talking and laughing during classes. There is absolutely NO COST to the veteran. Wags for warriors pays I for the training, the equipment, the veterinarian bills, any- thing needed while they are in the program. The veteran gets to come in and heal. The ultimate goal is for the service dog to take away the struggle the veteran faces everyday. Because a dog can impact a vet’s entire life, including a Spiritual life, we want to support our vets through Wags for Warriors.

If after prayer you are led to support this project, you may designate your giving by putting the amount on the monthly mission line on your tithing envelope.
