Prayer, the Most Important Support

Prayer, the Most Important Support

“Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is heaven.” Matthew 18:19

It is hard to believe in a little over a month, we will be in Haiti. It has been a long journey that started in September 2014. Through these many months, we trusted and prayed that God would direct in so many different areas. What agency do we go with? Who will join us? How will we raise the funds? How do we prepare to go?

God has been so faithful. He has moved many of you to give financially so we might go and we thank you for that. Now, as time is getting very close to our departure, I would ask your support again, this time in prayer. If we are to do more than just experience a new culture and meet different people; if we are to do more than just go to a faraway country and return with interesting stories, we need prayers. I am believing in faith that spiritual work will be done in each of the persons who go, but also in those we meet. However, prayer is key.

Leah, the organizer of the team we will be going with, shared how on a previous trip there was a young woman who had no interest in the gospel. She listened to them, but was not receptive. A year later when they returned, God had worked in this young woman’s heart and she had become a believer. I believe we can plant Gospel seeds at the minimum and if God has prepared the hearts, we might even see fruit.
And so, I ask that you pray that God would use us there to plant seeds and bear fruit. We have a short time – just a week to make an impact, but God is able to do “exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think.” Eph. 3:20 He is not limited by time or place or culture. Please pray that we glorify Him in what we say and do, being good “ambassadors for Christ” (2 Cor.5:20).

There are additional prayer requests that are posted on the Haiti Missions Trip board. Please take a look, maybe even jot them down and then pray for us regularly. We would really appreciate it.
In the next few weeks, you will also get to hear during service why we feel a calling to go to Haiti. I hope that the short testimonies we share will inspire you to pray for us. We are just like you, ordinary persons in whom God has planted a desire to go, but we know that your prayers are needed so that spiritual work is accomplished. We hope that you would give this most important support, especially in these last weeks. Thanks.
