“There’s stuff in here you need. It’s really good reading,” called the New Phila Welty student to his school friends as they walked out the door after school on November 16th. I was one of several Gideons on the sidewalk around New Phila High and Middle School to distribute New Testaments/Psalms/Proverbs to as many students we could reach in about 10 minutes after the bell rang. Equipped with a box of 100 testaments each, we handed them to students hoping each would accept one, as with any Gideon school distribution. But after I had distributed about 50 testaments, a student came outside, gladly accepted one, then stood beside me encouraging others to take one. Wow, I thought! What a heart for the Bible. And what a testimony for Christ to his friends. I loved it. Moments later, after all the students had left, I asked him about his faith. That was my blessing. And yours, too, because you gave offerings to the Gideons to buy Scriptures just for that-here in New Phila and in 199 other countries. We handed testaments to 400 students that day.
Thank you, Broadway. Missions work!
